Huangshan Mountains

The picture was painted based on the memories of my tea trip to China - the Huangshan Mountains greatly impressed me with their towering sharp peaks directed at 90 degrees into the sky on which mature trees grow clinging to this piece of stone. The painting depicts a sunset against the backdrop of a mountain range you can feel the smoke of the day that covers the horizon with a veil. A feeling of calm and sequence of events like the path of life or heartbeat expressed in the continuous black line of the mountains.

The painting was painted alla prima in 2014 when I lived in India.
