The decay of the era
The decay of the era
Slide Film from shri Lanka with time and wether effect.
This series of slides was made by an unknown amateur photographer and at some point he apparently decided to get rid of his collection of slides, perhaps because the subject was boring or because moisture got inside the slide cassette and started a chemical reaction with the positive film.
As a result, my close friend traveling to Colombo (Sri Lanka) found a package of these slides next to the trash and then he realized that Simon could reveal the true potential of these frames and brought them to me in Russia where I have a process set up for professional scanning of slides and film.
After scanning the first frames, I was very surprised by the amount of detail and color palette in each picture - decomposition or splitting created an unpredictable effect, as if absorbing reality, leaving only small details.
I was inspired by the plots of opocaleptic films and horror films where microorganisms consume and transform our concrete infrastructure.
